Thank God, this season finally started. After an interminably long, brutal winter, the sun finally decided to shine for a few days, although it is still being shy. This year in the pacific northwest is a real reminder that we live in an northern rain forest. Cold, wet and grey.
So, on the first opportunity which happened to be the summer solstice, June 21st, I jumped into the sky and flew around my fair town of White Rock for a commission that I got from Gary McGratten, a local realtor with Sutton Realty. He sells a lot of ocean view properties, so he wanted to have that represented as a large format work of art. Stunning. I keep using that word but it is true. I float mounted it (30 x 70 inches) on MDF but still used metallic paper, so it looks very similar to my limited edition series mounted on aluminum, but much more affordable. Still it is not cheap.
I spent last weekend and will be spending the one coming up exhibiting at the 38th annual Arnold Michaelson Art Fair in South Surrey. 3 acres of old growth forest with about 50 artists set up in the sun dappled grove. My Lucid Dreaming show looked very good set against the nature. I was very happy to have sold the first edition of Semiahmoo to a local couple. Equally important, was the endless praise and appreciation I got for these works. I tell ya, it makes a big difference. I sacrificed a lot last year to produce that series, but it really appears now to be paying off.
Out of the June 21st aerial shoot, I produced 3 other aerial panoramas that I will test market through GS & Co. Art Gallery here in White Rock. I have been working with Gary there for a while to come up with some local affordable art.
(I had two clients named Gary at the same time). So 5 more in all, (two other local scenes), will be at the show this weekend to see how they go over.
Plus I have the Tidal Pools large format gallery wrap canvas with brush strokes added that I produced for my friend Debbie that she let me show before taking possession. People really oohed and awed over that one as well. That was 35 x 75 inches.
And after massaging Chilliwack, I am starting to get some juice. I did another flight there last week on the clearest day of the year so far. It was brilliant. Jeanine from Principal Air is one of the most skilled and confident pilots I have ever flown with. She is really relaxed but really good at the same time. She has the ability to visualize spatially and fly a plane at the same time.
And next week I am off to Okanogan to shoot for several clients on hold. Happy Happy Happy, Thankful.

I've seen the aerial view of what you have captured. Perfect catch, think I'd have to think of ways on how can I make it more beautiful with just a simple camera that I have.
